Where the Wind Sleeps

The wind blew all day. It pushed the clouds. It shook the trees. It made the sea jump. At night, the wind got tired. "Where can I sleep?" it asked. "I sleep in a cave," said the bear. "I sleep in a nest," said the bird. "I sleep in the sand," said the fish. The wind looked everywhere. It found a valley between two hills. It lay down there, very quietly. The trees stopped moving. The sea became flat. The clouds stayed still. A little boy looked out of the window. "It is so quiet," he said. "Yes," said his mother. "The wind is asleep." "Then I will sleep too," said the boy. And he did.
